New member setting up a new system, 58 Buick.
Quote from oldsmobiledriver on June 13, 2019, 4:33 pmOk, question. cruising AFR is 14.8. We pulled a little timing last weekend so the plugs should be a little darker than the last time we checked them. But have not confirmed. Car drove about 150 miles like a dream getting 14-15 mpg, 2450 rpm, 70 mph, and 195 degree like a champ. Stopped to get fuel and rolling at idle away from the pump it died. Fired right back up. Then 2-3 times running down the highway at 70 it stumbled for 1-2 seconds and then instant power again the cruise had it climbing speed no problem. Any idea which way to look not having a log when it does it?
Thanks
Sorry, all day today Ray is with the car at the Buick Nationals show there in OKC.

Quote from oldsmobiledriver on August 18, 2019, 10:44 amI can’t find in the paper work anywhere. Is there an ideal thermostat temp for these systems. We’re fighting some heating issues with what is believed to be the radiator. We took the thermostat out for now. If I remember most fuel injection systems want a 195?

As long as the unit sees over 170 it will work. Anything under 170, the afterstart enrichment is still active. This will cause tuning difficulty.

Quote from oldsmobiledriver on October 1, 2019, 8:46 amOn FiTech website I see where you go in to change the PWM for the fuel pump. We have now switched over to the 30021 kit and the menu is not the same. I am not finding the fuel control menu their web site shows to change the low pwm to 100 for our intank fuel pump swap. Do you know where this setting is in the new unit?
Thanks

Did you enable Pro Tuning? Look in display settings.

Quote from Deleted user on October 6, 2019, 10:17 pmThat is odd. Your father in law and I have agreed to get together when they bring the car down to Arlington. Wants to fine tune the cruise AFR for better mpg. I will make a note to look at the PWM settings.
There is a PWM line in the engine setup of the Initial Setup menu.

Not sure what I need to be looking for. A few things I see. Vacuum is pretty low at idle. Didn't think the cam was that radical. Coolant Temp reading is a little high. Does it match the gauge? Voltage is a little low. Usually see over 13v at idle and around 14v on throttle.
