stumbling and die

PreviousPage 3 of 6Next

so tonight I installed a FCC2 and tuned the fuel pressure down to 40-42 PSI running. the truck seems to e back to running as it did with the carb. this is the log from tonight sitting at idle. can you give it a look over and see if you see anything that looks funny. I have looked at it but this is all just a bunch of numbers t0 me and not much of it makes any sense at this point. I would like to know if this is a good starting point so I know if I am going in the right direction for getting this thing tuned out or if I nee to stop and start over.

Thanks

Looking good.  Bring the IAC steps up a little.  I run mine around 15.  Never want to see them hit zero.  Other than that, let it learn....

so how would I go about bringing the IAC steps up? I am still unsure on how all this works. but willing to learn, just needing to get all the information that I can get on this stuff

thanks again Austin for looking this over and helping

Check YouTube for an IAC video from Fitech.  Should help you.

so i got the IAC under a little better control. but now i am getting a real bad rich burn on it. them today i found a menu for the injectors and VFI when i go in to this menu i find a inject flow lb/hr of 65.5. to me that seems high for a stock motor. does this sound right?

I wouldn't worry about that.  Now that your IAC is correct, let's get your idle AFR set.  You can adjust to idle quality and vacuum, then look at your plugs to verify a good AFR.

The weather is looking a little better today. I am going to get the truck running tonight and do a data log after it up to temp and see what i am getting.

so this is what the truck did tonight. didnt want to start cold had to give it some throtle to start. once running ran like crap. i have changed nothing from the other night when i got the IAC steps to come down. at this time the temp was 170+ on the handheld, fuel pressure was holding at 43-44PSI on the gauge. after i got gassed out of the garage i tried to rev the truck and it sounded like a four banger with plugged exahust and would not rev up. I am not sure if the software that i got is wrong or what has changed as it did not idle like this before. I am about to call it quits and go back to the holly that works. At least that way i can drive the truck and not just be mad at it all the time.

Sounds like you have air getting into the exhaust, giving an incorrect reading to the O2 sensor.  If plugs showing rich, and O2 shows normal, then look for leak.

I have checked for exhaust leaks time and time again. nothing. what on the data log shows that the o2 sensor is reading good? I am asking as i do not know. I would think that if this was a leak it would be all the time not just when it wants to cause an issue
