Also is it normal for the IAC setting to change between cold starts?

IAC always fluctuates.  Try setting around 15 steps.  Make sure you are up to temp and the handheld temp nearly matches your gauge.

Thanks, I now have another project for the weekend.

Ill let you know how I get on.

Try hooking the key wire (white) directly to the battery.  Make sure your battery is fully charged.

I got a response to my question within 12 hours from this site. After 6 days waiting for an email reply from Fitech for the same question above, I got the following: Who's answer do you think was the most helpful?

Mark,

The only options here is either the EFI is not on during cranking or the ignition system isn’t on during cranking.

Thanks,

Thank you and hope we are moving forward with your project.  The need for a tech support community was the driving motivator to build this site.

Fitech has shown some interest in the site and they do recognize the difficulty to offer proper support via phone or email.  We are scheduling a meeting next month to discuss plans for the future.

For now, let's get you running.  I know you will enjoy the reliability and consistency the Fitech can offer...

Thanks for the advice, once the Fitech got 12V during cranking it starts great.

I cant get the IAC below high 20s before the TPS moves to 0.5 and remains there after power off and restart. If I move the screw in the opposite direction the TPS goes back to 0 but the IAC moves to high 30s.

The engine also hunts (surges) at idle.

I have take a data log but dont know how to read it, and this site wont let me upload it.

Are you able to decode it for me please if I can get it to you.

Thanks Mark

Thanks Mark

Mark,

Your TPS signal moving is not a mechanical issues typically.  Usually an electronic variance.  0.5 is fine, within reason.  Now when adjusting the idle screw it will open the plates thus move the TPS.  The unit must be shut off to reset 0 TPS.  Then start back up.  TPS will be 0 and you will recheck IAC steps.  Re-adjust if necessary.  Make sense.

When you think you have it right send a datalog.  30 seconds at idle and at operating temperature. Post by leaving a Dropbox or Cloud link.

Hi Austin

After The TPS moves to 0.5 i shut it down.

When I restart the TPS still reads 0.5 before I adjust anything.

I have a data log ready, Ill send it as soon as i find out what a drop box is.

Datalog is looking pretty good.  Your IAC is too high and I see a little idle surge.

Before you start, try turning your idle screw a 1/4 turn in (clockwise). Start and let warm up.  Let me know your IAC steps and TPS %.

I have had TPS read .5% when at zero.  Usually will vary from 0 to .5 randomly.  That is not enough to get worried about.  If it starts randomly moving or hanging above that, I would look at throttle linkage, secondary plate adjustment and possibly change the TPS with a Delco replacement.
